New Years Day - "Kill or Be Killed" Single Review

When you think of New Years Day, you think of the first day of the year. Others, they think of this Anaheim based band. Lead by fierce front-woman, Ashley "Ash" Costello, this is one band you don't want to over look. After years of struggles, countless members leaving and entering, this band has finally begun to find success. Their 3rd album, "Malevolence", is due for a fall release. The band is currently on Warped Tour 2015, where you can pre-order the album. But until then, you'll have to jam to their new single "Kill or Be Killed". Here's the (link) to the official music video.

Our Last Night - "Younger Dreams" Review

About two years ago I stumbled across the song "Liberate Me" by Our Last Night. The band had just released their their "Oak Island EP", and I loved the aforementioned single from "Age of Ignorance"so I decided to give the EP a listen. I was floored by what I heard, and the fact that I hadn't already gotten into this band. Their new album, "Younger Dreams", was released on June 16. After a string of successful covers (i.e "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry and "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift), this full length was greatness in the making. This album rides the wave the band started when they made the bold decision to go independent. To buy the album on iTunes follow this (link).

Pierce the Veil "The Divine Zero - Single" Review

It's finally here! The long awaited first single from Pierce the Veil's upcoming album. After postponing the release last year, the album was set to drop sometime in early 2015. But we all know now that the album will be coming out in the last half of the year. "Collide with the Sky" was nothing short of incredible, solidifying the band's position at the top of their field. So does this new single live up to expectation? Here's a link to buy the new single on iTunes (The Divine Zero)

Sleeping with Sirens - "Madness" Review

Though it's been about three months since the release, it seemed stupid not to do a review of this album. "Madness" is the fourth effort from post hardcore giants Sleeping with Sirens. Or used to be post hardcore, now some odd mix of mainstream pop, emo, and acoustic band Kellin and the Quinns.

*Warning - The review is fairly lengthy

Too Close To Touch - "Nerve Endings" Review

So last fall Epitaph Records released a single from a new signee, Too Close To Touch. At the time I didn't think much of the release, but after listening to the track, I was hooked on this band. I picked up their "self titled EP" and was completely sold on the band. And 3 months after their debut, I'm still jamming. So here's a full review of their debut, Nerve Endings. Here's a (link) to buy the album on iTunes. I did a brief review prior (which can be found on my deviantart Journal), but I really wanted to expand on it.

I the Mighty - "Connector" Review

Review of I the Mighty's new album "Connector". Click the following link to purchase the album on iTunes (Connector).

For those of you who aren't familiar with this band, let me give you some background info. I the Mighty is an alternative rock band based out of San Francisco. They've been making music since 2007, but were signed to Equal Vision Records back in 2011. They're first studio album, Satori, was released in 2013. Prior they had a string of EPs, most notably Karma Never Sleeps in 2012.  They've toured with bands like Say Anything, Architects, Hands Like Houses and letlive. Last year they were a part of the Vans Warped Tour. I had the pleasure of seeing their set in Hartford, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Their live performances are just as memorable as their CDs.

Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! - "Get Lost, Find Yourself" Review

Here's my first review for this blog. To read any past reviews check my deviantart profile Journal. I'll be posting my review of I the Mighty's new album within the week so stay tuned for that as well. So without further ado, here is my review of Get Lost, Find Yourself

So these French boys have been on the music scene for about 5 years. Their debut, "Something For Nothing", was released in Europe back in 2010, and then in 2011 in the States and Australia. They were signed to Fearless Records in 2011, and were included in the Punk Goes Pop series with a cover of "We R Who We R" by Ke$ha. Their sophomore album was released in 2013, "Pardon My French", and then the deluxe edition last June. They also contributed a cover of "All Star" for Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2.
